Well the holidays are coming (or so the coke advert tells me) and I am once again thinking about leather/metal manica.

Given the Roman ability and desire to make things aesthetic and the painting found frequently on images around padding and statues does anyone know whether Roman leather work was ever painted or dyed?

Am new to the forum but have been reading for a while and hope to make some contributions over time.

I've been doing some research for a Gladiator Game I've been developing for a while and wondered if anyone knew offhand what the average price range was for Slaves/POW's that were purchased for gladiator schools.
I've found a number of references to slaves in general but nothing specific to those puchased for a Ludus.

Roman Days 2004 went well and a fun time was had by all. The weather cooperated for the most part and everyone had great displays! Ludus Magnus Gladiatores had a fabulous display and it would be great to have more gladiators next year.
